Hey ,

I have updated my wildfire to android 2.2 from 3 days .
I saw that my wildfire is running slower than with the old software, he have lags when i open some menus .

And also the battery is going down very fast, i saw a lot of applications opened (news, mail, messenger, nimbuzz, astro, etc.) , and even if i "kill" them the apps will open agaiin . Maybe because of this my battery life is so bad .

Can you help me with this issue ? There are some tricks to improve my phone and also my battery ?

Thanks

hi there,
this is not an answer but it is my expirience since updating from 2.1 to 2.2...

1. nightmare while typing sms, mms, mail or every other text... blocking, slow response, deleting letters whitout any action...

2. since update, apps are crashing, not always, but too often... only solution in that case is forse close or restaring phone

3. i have post paid plan whit internet... 2.2 is using it like i don't know what even i close all apps whit need for net. it seems like froyo like to surf Smiley

4. yes, milion of running apps in task mngr...

5. yes, batery life...

6. weather widget...

if you had a search you would find mentioned about 20 times, don't use a task manager/app killer with froyo, these clash and suck battery. i have 2.2 use my phone lots and get 2 days.

If you've 100's of sms messages on your phone try deleting them.  That speeded mine up the last time it ran slow and now I keep clearing when I get over a few hundred.

i bought my HTC Wildfire just a month back with Android v2.1
i got an update to Android v2.2 yesterday.
Should i update to v2.2?
because many of my friends have updated the Android in their Wildfire to v2.2 and are facing problems like quicker battery drain out, sluggishness of phone functionality etc.

Please Advice.

nooo, while you have the chance root and flash a custom rom on your phone they kick arse over stock froyo, and if you do ota update root access not available yet, you'll get so much more out of your phone, and you can even have gingerbread 2.3 with new cm7 rom,
http://baert.ulyssis.be/2010/10/13/wildpuzzle-rom-for-htc-wildfire/
and check out custom roms available
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822181
i'm using wildpuzzle v.08

I am sure its not new but there are MANY things which are not new but still discussed on this panel. Everyday at least one person buys new wildfire and he/she would ask this question "how to save battery" at some or the other point, so i made the post for such people. And in India, Android just started to grow, so it also make sense
